Step 3. We wrote the code

Airbnb has a cool practice when a team rents an apartment next to the office on Airbnb for a few days and works there. To develop a referral program, we rented two apartments near San Francisco.

We developed web, iOS and Android at the same time. Two of our developers wanted to learn iOS and Android, so they took on this project. The core mobile development team also helped by sending their own developers to work on this project. At Airbnb, we educate developers on the new technologies they are interested in and give them the opportunity to develop with experienced mentors. It was cool to upgrade new “skills” while working on a real product.
